Fractional rigged sloop with deck stepped alloy mast and spars.
Mast foot in a tabernacle for easy raising and lowering and which also houses the keel raising mechanism.
Roller furling foresail and slab reefing mainsail with sail coat and running rigging led aft to cockpit.
These sails are judged to be in "satisfactory condition" and good for many more seasons.
Construction:
GRP body and deck mouldings forming a double skin with the cavity filled by closed cell foam.
This method of development provides inherent buoyancy for safety, stiffness that aids sailing performance and insulation which helps keep the interior more comfortable with lower levels of condensation and noise.
Alloy pulpit, pushpit and toe rail fittings with a single guard wire and non-slip decking for security.
Transom hung rudder, lift keel with interior keel box.
Mechanicals:
The boat is powered by a Tohatsu 5hp 4 stroke outboard mounted in a central well.
The engine was recently fully serviced by MES Marine (Sealand)
The gasoline basin and charger are located in the aft cockpit safes.

Accommodation and layout:
The open plan interior layout provides seating for 4 adults with a double V dock with stowage under in the front and 2 single settee / quarter docks.
The keel box makes a natural break between the V dock and the rest of the compartment.
Just forward of the keel box is a sea toilet covered by the V dock.
Beside the keel box is the galley with sink, 2 burner spirit stove and cupboard stowage.
To starboard is a blueprint chart desk with the space for a water supply beneath.
Beneath the cockpit sole there is plenty of room for stowage of a Porta-Potti chemical toilet (not included) for lake use if required .

Overview - description:
The Etap 22i is a deservedly popular and very well constructed yacht.
Classed as unsinkable due to the closed foam double skin hull construction.
With it's build quality and appeal, the hull is double skinned with polyurethane foam in between, this not only adds buoyancy it also insulates the boat, so reduces condensation.
Built to a high specification, Etap produced a trailerable boat capable of coastal and inland cruising and club racing alike.
For the size of yacht, the space is intelligently used to provide a galley, double forward berth and comfortable saloon area, including to sizeable berths.
The ability to reduce the boat's draft, by lifting the keel, also provides the opportunity to explore inland waters, drying creeks and estuaries.
Of particular note, with this version, is the serviced engine, condition of the sails and organised running rigging.
